Traditional Birthstones for December are the Turquoise, Blue Zircon & Deep Blue Tanzanite
The brilliant blue of Turquoise is in demand as an accessory for contemporary fashion and cultures around
the globe revere the Turquoise as a mystical and holy gemstone. This gem is given to those born in December
and to honor the 6th & 7th wedding anniversaries. With Turquoise set in its familiar silver settings it is
frequently being combined with yellow gold and other gems such
as Pearls, Carnelian, Coral & Moonstone.
A gem of great beauty and rarity can be mistaken for the far more expensive blue diamond. The colors are long
favored by consumers because this breathtaking gem, with its superb brilliance and dispersion, looks more
like a diamond than any other stone. The aqua-blue brightness of Zircon is tinged with shimmering teal and
gives energy & renewal to those who wear it. This gem is frequently used to celebrate
December birthdays and 4th wedding anniversary.
Deep Blue Tanzanite
The deep vivid blue with a purplish tinge and dazzling intensity dances about the stone as it moves
in the light. This modern gemstone unknown until 1967 caused a world wide sensation and the
one source for this gem is the hills of northern Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro.
The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) named Tanzanite as an
alternative gem to celebrate December birthdays.
